Homework and Happenings

Coming Up.... 

  • Read Across America Week is going on this week.  In celebration, Mrs. Costilow has planned some special days to go along with some Dr. Seuss favorites!
    • Tuesday - Fox in Socks - Wear crazy socks
    • Wednesday - The Lorax - Wear yellow, orange, or a mustache shirt
    • Thursday - Oh, The Places You'll Go! - Wear a shirt featuring a place you'd like to go or a favorite place you have been
    • Friday - The Cat in the Hat - Wear red and white.  Wear a crazy hat!
  • Please don't forget the Jump Rope for Heart (American Heart Association) fundraiser. Hearts can be purchased for $1 and will be displayed on Burnette's Heart Wall.  Donations will be accepted until 2/28.
  • Please remember items for the BES Carnival's Silent Auction.  Our theme is Ready for Middle School (Girls).  New items of any value that fall within this theme would be most appreciated!  Donations will be collected through this week.  Thank you so much for what you've sent in!
  • The GAGE Consortium is Saturday, March 8th, at Mason ES, from 8:30-noon. Please see the flyer (link below) for just some of the sessions that will be offered. The keynote speaker is Storm Robinson from Ga Tech. He is an expert with STEM education and used to work for NASA! The Consortium is $20, or FREE to GAGE members. There is no pre-registration.   • Homework:  PW p. 90 (1-6 & mixed review)
  • Test next week:  begin studying vocabulary!

Word Study

  • The list for next week can be found in the word study/spelling tab.  Children copied definitions today.
  • Master the meaning - Thursday; Spelling & dictation on Friday

Science (Upchurch's Class)

  • No homework. 
  • Microscope test Friday
