A HUGE thank you to our parents that helped out today for our hall display!!!  It is amazing!  We are so thankful for awesome parents!

Rewards:  We are in need of boxes of "movie candy" for our treasure box.  I would appreciate any donations!  The children love a trip to the treasure box!!!

Conferences:   Please select a time that you'd like to meet to discuss your child's progress.  Please remember to sign-up only with your child's homeroom teacher. 

Six Flags Read to Succeed - Last Call: Don't forget the Six Flags Read to Succeed reading log is due by Monday, February 9th in order to earn a free Six Flags Ticket.

Spring Carnival Silent Auction: Our class is collecting items for a Georgia Tech themed basket for the spring carnival silent auction. Please consider donating! Items donated for the basket should be turned in no later than February 23.

Valentine's Day: A class list  was sent home in your child's Friday folder. Children may bring Valentines on Friday for their classmates.

Tennis Ball Containers:  I am in need of 2 more tennis ball containers.  If you have any available, I sure could use them!!!  Thank you!!!

Homework assignments are now being posted on the Student Portal. Please check your portal page, 2015S2 Morand.K Fifth Grade Core. Assignments and other upcoming events are posted on the calendar. I'll post in both places for a few more weeks!

Math

• Homework:  p. 933-934
• If your child was absent:  Please review & complete pages 929-932 in the math textbook.
• Math test is tentatively planned for Tuesday, 2/24.  Children will have to know the geometry vocabulary!  They should study the definitions in their journal.

Word Study

• Words for this week can be found under the Word Study/Spelling tab.
• Master the Meaning - tomorrow, Spelling and Dictation Test - Friday

Science (Upchurch's Class)

• Homework:  none
• Sum of Parts Test - Tuesday, 2/17.  Study notes.
• Notes for needed food items for science were sent home in Friday folders. Most items are due on Tuesday, 2/17. Thank you in advance for your help!
