No more reading logs this year!!!

We are in need of individually wrapped candy for the candy jar.  If you can help out with a bag of candy, I'd appreciate it.  I suggest any of the following:  Nerds, Smarties, Dum Dums, Jolly Ranchers, or Skittles (please no chocolate or peanut products).  Thank you very much!!!

Georgia Milestone Testing
The Georgia Milestone tests begin next week!  Testing dates are Monday, 4/20 ELA (section 1 & 2); Tuesday, 4/21 ELA (section 3); Thursday, 4/23 Math; Monday, 4/27 Science; and Wednesday, 4/29 Social Studies.  More information about testing was sent home in the Friday folder.

I sent out an email on Tuesday for snacks for our testing dates.  I've already had all of the slots filled.  Thank you so much for your help!  Please remember that snacks should be individually wrapped and sent in the morning of the date you select.

Other reminders that I mentioned in my email.  Children should...
  • eat a good, filling breakfast
  • arrive to school no later than 8:45
  • bring a water bottle

Rising 6th Grade Parent Night
Rising 6th Grade Parent Night at Hull Middle School on April 16, 2015.
Probe, Special Ed and ESOL Parents 6:00 - 6:30 PM
All Parents 6:30 - 7:30 PM
Parents will learn valuable information about the transition to 6th grade and will have the opportunity to visit 6th grade classrooms, meet teachers and staff, and learn about connections classes.

Science (Upchurch)

  • Homework:  Finish circuit pictures/descriptions if  not finished in class! Direction are below.
  • Science Vocabulary Test - Friday, 4/17 & End of Unit Test Friday, 4/24
Directions:  Fold your construction paper into four sections.  In each section, write a title and draw and color the following circuits as directed below.  You may use your book or notes to help.
  • Section 1:
    Title:  Closed Circuit
    Draw a closed circuit.
    Explain what happens in a closed circuit.
    Section 2: 
    Title:  Open Circuit
    Draw an open circuit.
    Explain what happens in an open circuit.
    Section 3: 
    Title:  Parallel Circuit
    Draw a parallel circuit.
    In your drawing, illustrate and explain what happens when one light goes out.
    List one example of a parallel circuit we use.
    Section 4: 
    Title Series Circuit
    Draw a series circuit.
    In your drawing, illustrate and explain what happens when one light goes out.
    List one example of a series circuit we use.
