Homework and Happenings

Math  -

• Homework:  worksheet
• Journals will be checked and graded next week.  Children should have their journal home with them tonight to assist with homework.  Please take a moment to look over your child's journal with him/her.  The first page of the journal is the math about me page.  That should be completed with 8 items that tell about the child in mathematical form (using an equation and an illustration. On the table of contents page, there should be 12 items listed with the date and the page number.  Following, there should be 12 pages with a title, the date, and a page number.  
• Please save the Sunday sale ads from your paper.  We are going to begin a "Shop 'Till You Drop" project in math this week and your child will need a sale ad.  

Word Study

• Review words - study the first 5 words
• There will not be a master the meaning this week, but instead, the children will solve a crossword puzzle using the words and definitions so they will still need to know the definitions!  Spelling and dictation will be on Friday, as usual.

Science -

• No homework!
• The edible cell project due Thursday, 10/3.
• Cell Test, Friday 10/4

Grammar -

• Homework:  workbook pages 107 & 108
• Preposition poster if not finished in class.
